Boomianthus Craning Their Heads to Meet the Morning Sun on Flickr.
This is the photo I never expected. This is the one I want people to look at and wonder what’s going on here. It was such a wonderful find. I was driving to an abandoned factory which was to be my last stop for the day when I came upon a fleet of tree-trimming trucks parked in a vacant lot. I’ve seen one or two trucks parked with their booms up before — never this many so close together. Had I shown the trucks themselves the title reference would have been Boomasaurs. Mechanicals tend to be dinosaurs in my mind. But without the trucks they look more like sunflowers — helianthus.
